JWU’s Early Enrollment Program (EEP) can help you jumpstart your future plans.
Through EEP, you can:
- Start earning college credits during your senior year of high school
- Experience living in a college residence hall.
- Pay only 50% tuition for the first year of your undergraduate degree.
- Still participate in high school activities for the best of both worlds!
What Is EEP?
EEP allows you to start attending classes at JWU while completing your senior year of high school, all without missing any important high school events and milestones.
You can participate in any academic undergraduate degree offered on JWU’s Providence Campus.
You’ll also be eligible to live in one of our residence halls — while still being able to graduate from high school at the same time as your peers.

Enrolling in JWU’s EEP program can get you ahead of your peers academically, giving you a running start into your college experience. You will:
- Graduate from JWU one full year earlier.
- Get started on finding your career path sooner.
- Save money — you’ll pay half the regular tuition your first year at JWU.
Am I a Candidate?
You may be a good candidate for EEP at Johnson & Wales University if you:
- Are a high school junior
- Want to get a head start on your education at JWU
- Are a self-starter looking for a challenge beyond what is offered in high school
Academic Qualifications for EEP
To be considered for EEP, you need to have:
- a minimum 2.75 GPA (B-) and a B- in English
- a minimal number of high school classes left to complete to meet graduation requirements. (For example, you might have one English class and one or two other classes to take in order to graduate.)
Requirements and equivalent JWU courses will be determined by your high school counselor and JWU.

How to Apply
To participate in EEP, do the following during your junior year of high school:
- Submit the Undergraduate Application and indicate your program of choice.
- Application period begins in late fall of your junior year. JWU will need mid-year grades to render a decision on your early enrollment.
- Submit the EEP Agreement Form (PDF).
- Be sure to have your school counselor, principal and your parent/guardian complete and sign the EEP Agreement Form.
If you qualify, Admissions will contact you to schedule your EEP interview.
Note: Important financial information for EEP students can be found in the JWU Providence Catalog’s Early Enrollment section. You won’t need to file a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) for your first year because you will not be eligible for federal financial aid your first year. Instead, EEP students save money by only paying 50% tuition their first year.
