Most of your learning will take place in the beautiful Cuisinart Center for Culinary Excellence on the Harborside campus, overlooking the Providence River. It’s a short bus ride to the restaurant and hospitality scene in downtown Providence.

Specializations

Food and Beverage Management
Learn the ins and outs of managing restaurants. Develop a menu and manage service at one of our fully functional restaurants on campus. You’ll also explore key topics such as marketing, staff scheduling, production planning, and beverage service management.

Hotel and Resort Management
Dive into the principles and concepts of resort management, gain a working knowledge of hotel support services, and participate in an immersive study-away experience.

Sustainable Tourism
Your courses will cover food culture, geography, international policies and more. The highlight of this specialization is the international trip you and your classmates will plan and execute.

Hospitality Labs & Classrooms

Students develop the menus, manage the front and back of the house, recommend wine pairings, serve the guests and practice managing staff. Discover the world of beverages through tasting and experimentation in this cutting-edge Bigelow Beverage Lab. Students conduct tastings of beverages such as water, tea, coffee, beer, wine or spirits with the goal of learning the techniques of sensory perception, how to conduct professional flavor profiles and how to pair food with all types of beverages.

Students shadow industry professionals and gain insights into daily operaions, preparing them to lead in the divers and exciting field of hopspitality.
