Biography and Expertise
Dr. Sean Baldwin is an Assistant Professor of Sports, Entertainment and Event Management at Johnson & Wales University (Charlotte Campus). He completed his doctoral degree in Leadership Studies with an emphasis in Sports Management in 2019 from Concordia University Chicago. He earned his master’s degree in Parks, Recreation, Tourism, & Sport Management from North Carolina State University and bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies from North Carolina Central University. He has more than a decade of experience in education (Public and Private). He has served as an adjunct professor at Johnson C. Smith University and Queen’s University Charlotte. Since 2012, he worked for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), most recently as a CTE Business Education Teacher at West Mecklenburg High School. He currently holds a Professional Educators License in Business and Information Technology for the State of North Carolina. He is a member of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM). He also currently serves as the Faculty Athletic Representative for the JWU Charlotte Department of Athletics. He has intercollegiate athletics experience assisting in sports information, compliance, marketing, program operations, and student-athlete academic support.
