Biography and Expertise
Childhood readings of Rabindranath Tagore’s poetry and stories started my interest in literature. An undergraduate degree from Dhaka University, Bangladesh, provided me with an extensive academic training in British literature from Chaucer to D.H. Lawrence.
The Ph.D. program at the University of Rhode Island (URI) offered me the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding and appreciation for postcolonial theory and literature.
Published in MELUS Journal, Genders and South Asian Review, I’ve presented papers at numerous regional and national conferences throughout my career. My teaching experience spans from overseas, in Bangladesh and Singapore, to various institutions in New England, such as Rhode Island School of Design, University of Rhode Island and Bryant University.
