Biography and Expertise
I began my culinary journey as a cook at an inn in Connecticut. I found that I enjoyed the scale and freedom as well as learning from those with more experience. I worked as a catering assistant, at the same time and enjoyed the variety of off-site locations and menus. I was fortunate to have been a Teaching Assistant and Fellow at Johnson & Wales. I taught for a short period before serving in the United States Navy. While food service was not my focus there, I believe that the core values transfer to all professions. I found a love of hotels while working at the Ritz-Carlon, Naples. Missing New England, I was able to return to Johnson & Wales University and continue my teaching experience. I firmly believe that a strong foundation is crucial to advancement and I love seeing students work diligently to achieve their goals, no matter what they may be.
