I currently serve as the Fire Chief of the Warwick Fire Department. The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) is the second largest department in Rhode Island responding to over 20,000 incidents each year. The Department is staffed with 220 sworn Firefighters and 12 civilian members with an annual budget of $30 million. The WFD is an all-hazards department and provides emergency services to over 82,000 residents in 49 square miles from nine (9) strategically located fire stations. Additionally, the WFD provides emergency services to T.F Green International Airport, Amtrak high speed rail, interstate highways and large commercial shopping venues. Our Marine Units cover 39 miles of coastline on Narragansett Bay and numerous marinas with over 3,000 recreational boat slips.
Additionally, our Marine Division is part of the Port of Providence Marine Response Team and the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force. The WFD also provides regional technical rescue services and a hazardous material response team to the State and surrounding communities.
I also serve as the Director of Emergency Management for the City of Warwick where I oversee our City’s disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs. I also lead mitigation efforts, manage the Warwick Emergency Operations Center, coordinate mutual-aid resources, and run training exercises to protect public safety and minimize property damage.
Prior to becoming Warwick Fire Chief, I served the Providence Fire Department for thirty years in various neighborhoods of the City, in the Departments busiest fire companies, eventually retiring as Fire Marshal where I oversaw fire inspections and fire investigations.
