Biography and Expertise

My name is Dr. Muleka Kikwebati. I have over 25 years of academic and professional experience. I received an undergraduate degree in Business Finance from the College of Commerce in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Upon graduation, I worked for four years as a Financial & Accounting Officer for a project sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Kinshasa. After four years of a successful career as a Financial & Accounting Officer, I decided to pursue graduate study in the US. I attended and earned an MBA from Hampton University, MS – Accounting from Old Dominion University, and Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Nova Southeastern University. Before joining Johnson & Wales University, I served as Campus Dean at Strayer University and taught finance and economics for more than six years. I also worked for Hampton University for more than six years where he taught finance, economics, and statistics. Other courses taught in addition to finance and economics include financial accounting (undergraduate and graduate levels). My research interests include corporate finance, stock markets, and economic development. I presented a research paper at the International Atlantic Economic Society on “Financial Development and Economic Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa”.
