Biography and Expertise

Professor Michelle Bull is a graduate of the Bachelor Degree of Nursing (BSN) program at the University of Rhode Island. She earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Clinical Nurse Leadership (CNL) from Sacred Heart University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a focus on systems leadership (DNP) from Rhode Island College. Dr. Bull’s doctoral research focused on implementing a resource nurse in the community to increase resources to low-income families to promote healthier living.
Dr. Bull has been a registered nurse for 23 years and a nurse educator for over ten years. Her clinical practice is primarily in the field of maternal and child health. She has taught in prelicensure nursing programs for over ten years and has held leadership positions within nursing school departments.
Dr. Bull has held and currently holds the following certifications: Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS/AED). Dr. Bull has been a member of the Organization of Associate Degree of Nursing (OADN) and a former Foundation Board Member with OADN. Her work with OADN has allowed her to travel to Guatemala to participate in a mission trip to increase awareness of global health initiatives. Dr. Bull also serves as a peer evaluator for the Accreditation Commission of Nursing (ACEN). Dr. Bull also holds memberships in the following professional organizations: Sigma Theta Tau and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).
