Biography and Expertise
Dr. Michael Castro began teaching in 2016. He is a full-time faculty member at Miami Dade College North Campus since August of 2016. He is also employed with Johnson and Wales University as an Adjunct Professor for graduate and undergraduate students. He has been with Johnson and Wales since August of 2018. He also teaches in the Healthcare Administration program for Herzing University since 2021. He also teaches at Florida National University since 2024 in the graduate and undergraduate programs in Business.
Before his employment with Miami Dade College, Dr. Michael Castro acquired 6 years of management and leadership experience while employed by United Healthcare as a Customer Relations Manager, and as a Director of the Medicaid Department with Preferred Medical Plan. Dr. Castro is also the Vice-President of Mental Health of Miami, Inc., which is a company that provides Mental Health Counseling, Psychological Testing, and Applied Behavioral Analysis services.
Dr. Michael Castro obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Carlos Albizu University as well as an MBA centralizing in Organizational Leadership and Entrepreneurship from the same institution. Dr. Michael Castro then obtained a DBA from Argosy University focusing on Organizational Leadership and Management on July of 2015. Dr. Castro has also obtained different certifications in Early Childhood Care. Dr. Castro has published six articles related to healthcare and management, and recently published his first book; Facing Crossroads: Stay Motivated To Become Your Best Self.
