Biography and Expertise

I am an epidemiologist and behavioral scientist who specializes in the design and analysis of interventions to promote healthy behaviors and enhance adherence to medical and nonpharmacologic therapies. I have a broad background in physical therapy, public health, behavioral science and clinical epidemiology. With more than 20 years of higher education administration and leadership, I have overseen the creation and implementation of numerous health professional curricula and professional accreditation reports. My research combines both qualitative and quantitative approaches to evaluate outcomes and to develop novel patient reported outcome measures (PROMs). As PI or co-Investigator on several foundation, university- and NIH-funded grants and as the behavioral scientist and epidemiologist, I provide lectures on research methodology and outcomes assessment and rehabilitation internationally and nationally. I am an APTA Worthingham Fellow, a Fellow and Scholar of the National Academy of Practice, a Distinguished Educator and ​Scholar of the American College of Rheumatology and a Fulbright ​Research Scholar.
