Biography and Expertise

Lisa Dumont began her nursing career in 1991, gaining experience across a variety of healthcare settings, including critical care, medical-surgical, emergency department, post-anesthesia care unit, and serving as a sepsis coordinator for a three-hospital system.

She earned her nursing degree at Bristol Community College in Fall River, MA, before advancing her education with a BSN and MSN from the University of Phoenix. Her passion for nursing education led her to pursue a PhD in Education with a specialization in Nursing Education from Capella University.

Transitioning into academia, Dr. Dumont has served as practical nurse faculty, adjunct clinical faculty, and program coordinator for an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), dedicated to shaping the next generation of nurses. Dr. Dumont’s research interests focus on self-care for nursing students and faculty.
Beyond traditional nursing education, Dr. Dumont is deeply committed to holistic wellness. She is a certified yoga teacher, mindfulness and meditation practitioner, Reiki Master and educator, and holds a certification in Thai bodywork. Her expertise bridges the gap between evidence-based nursing practice and integrative health, fostering a well-rounded approach to patient care and self-care.
