Biography and Expertise

After 20 years as a Floral Designer (URI 1974, Resource Development) and Youth Art Facillitator, I received a Masters of Arts in Holistic Counseling and CAGS in Mental Health Counseling from Salve Regina University. From 1991 – 2007, I was employed by the Newport Partnership for Families, providing liaison work for students at Thompson Middle School in Newport and Newport Social Service Agencies. After 10 years as an Adolescent and Adult Mental Health Counselor at Newport Mental Health, I returned to Thompson as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor ( 2017 – 2023). I retired from the school department in June of 2023, and now teach Yoga, as well as courses for JWU (2018 – present)
