Biography and Expertise
Kristin Morey Rosler received her B.S. from Tulane University in Cellular & Molecular Biology and History and her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Genetics from the University of Kentucky for her work, “The Role of Jak-Stat Signaling in Drosophila Hematopoiesis.” (Rawlings & Rosler, Journal of Cell Science, 2004).
Following those studies, she was an oncological research fellow at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research, where she investigated the genetic and cellular factors governing human leukemia and vascular development. (Gombert et al., Molecular & Cellular Biology, 2003).
During this time, Rosler also worked as biological consultant for Seattle-based medical device companies.
In 2010, she became an associate professor of science and an adjunct faculty in the Center for Physician Assistant Studies at Johnson & Wales University. Rosler approaches each class as a scientific story and greatly enjoys making science and medicine approachable and relevant to her students. In addition, Kristin is a Pre-Health Graduate Advisor–making sure students are prepared to apply for medical graduate programs.
