Biography and Expertise
I have been on this earth for over six decades. I was born & raised in the thirteenth largest city in continental United States, located in southeastern Virginia. I attended American University in Washington D.C, receiving a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration (BA). Having fallen in love with D.C., I attended George Washington University Law School so I could remain there an additional three years. Finally, the cold weather got to me. So, upon graduation from law school, I moved to Fort Lauderdale.
I took the Florida Bar exam in 1976, passed; went to a bar to celebrate; bought the bar — I have been in the bar/restaurant business until 2000 when I sold my last restaurant.
Being concerned about employee theft in my bars and restaurants, I along with two other individuals designed and developed a software program to assist owners/managers of bar/restaurants in controlling inventory costs. The company has since expanded into all types of retail operations and now offers consulting services regarding most business issues. I sold my share of the business in 2000. It was also the year, 2000, when I began teaching college classes on a part-time basis.
I have a thirty-year-old son, and twenty-five-year-old triplets — life has massively changed since my single days in the bar/ restaurant business!
