Biography and Expertise
Eugene Santos worked in the education field for 30 years; 10 at secondary level and 20 at the higher educational level. He taught as a full-time instructor for 20 years at Johnson & Wales University in the Design Department. He designed and taught over 10 original courses during this time at the University. In addition to my teaching experience with in-person classes, he also designed several courses for transition to the online environment and taught online classes for 4 years. He is versed in multiple web technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and WordPress. Santos coded his first website in 1995 and professionally designed websites and taught website design for the over 20 years. He also has an expertise in video production, motion graphics, and UX design. He earned a M.A. in Media Studies from Rhode Island College and has a passion for future of technology and education. Santos founded a small design studio, Room 35, in 2001, and for 10 years worked with a number of clients including NOAA, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, United Nations Environmental Program, and others. His professional work includes print, web, and video production. His projects with NOAA, UN agencies, and others required travel to a number of countries including Austria, Egypt, Ghana, and Guatemala. He consults, designs, and develops websites as a freelancer, and continues to teach full-time in the Design Department.
