Biography and Expertise

A lifelong global trade professional, Betty Robson is Executive Director of JF Moran, a subsidiary of OIA Global. She is a Licensed Customs Broker, Master Customs Specialist, Certified Global Business Professional and an accredited Hofstede lecturer. A member of both the Massachusetts and Florida Bars, she is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of International Trade. She received her B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Boston College and her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law. Betty is a past president of both the Boston Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association and the Air Cargo Club of New England and is the Chairperson of the Rhode Island District Export Council. In furtherance of her goals of mentoring and supporting women in business, she is a member of the NRICC Women’s Business Council and is a Founding Director of Women in World Trade New England. Betty also served as Chairperson of the Lincoln, RI School Committee. She was an appointed member of The State of Rhode Island’s Transportation Advisory Committee and is currently serving on the State of Rhode Island’s Freight Advisory Committee, serves on the Executive Board of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, and is an appointed Rhode Island Commodore. She served for seven years as Chair of World Trade Day for The John H. Chafee Center for International Business at Bryant University. She holds a position on the Board of Directors for ProvPort. As a Professor in Johnson & Wales University’s MBA Program, she taught courses focused on global trade, international business negotiations, business strategy and leadership.
