Biography and Expertise

I hold a B.S. in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology and an M.A. in Applied Sociology. Since December 2015, I have taught sociology in both on-ground and online classrooms, with most of my current experience focused on online instruction. Among the courses I have taught are Introduction to Sociology, Microsociology, Culture and Food, and Classical Sociological Theories, with Introduction to Sociology remaining a particular favorite of mine to teach. I design assignments that let students experience and reflect on the world first-hand, helping them connect what they learn to real-life situations so sociology feels alive beyond the textbook. By integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and experiential learning strategies, I enjoy creating accessible, engaging, and meaningful opportunities for students to connect sociological concepts with their own lives.
