Biography and Expertise
Driven by a deep passion for science and education, I’ve built a career at the intersection of research, healthcare, and workforce development. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biological and Environmental Sciences, with my academic research rooted in integrated and evolutionary biology. My work explored the dynamic relationships between evolution, genetics, and physiology—laying the foundation for a diverse and interdisciplinary career.
Following my academic training, I expanded my scientific expertise in translational research settings, first in a Cardiothoracic Surgery lab and later in a Pediatric Infectious Disease lab. These experiences not only deepened my understanding of human health and disease but also broadened my perspective on how research directly informs clinical practice.
I eventually transitioned from the lab to the healthcare workforce field, where I now serve as the Director of the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center. In this role, I focus on aligning education and workforce strategies to meet the evolving needs of healthcare systems. I also hold the CHSOS-A (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist–Advanced) credential, which reflects my commitment to high-quality, evidence-based simulation practices.
Today, my work lives at the crossroads of research, education, simulation, and workforce development. I am passionate about building systems and programs that not only train the next generation of healthcare professionals but also advance innovation, equity, and excellence in healthcare delivery.
