Biography and Expertise

A registered dietitian and advocate for healthy eating behaviors beginning in infancy, Barbara was a clinical pediatric dietitian and lead dietitian at Hasbro Children’s Hospital for many years. She subsequently taught at JWU for 10 years, reaching the rank of Associate Professor. For the past 5 years, Barbara has continued to teach online and in person in the graduate programs at New York University and JWU. She also teaches in the classroom at Roger Williams University.
Barbara is a long-time adjunct clinical teaching associate at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Her research focus is education of pediatricians with the intent of preventing obesity in early childhood.
