Biography and Expertise
I have worked in governmental, public, and private accounting, entering at a staff level and working my way to a supervisory level. I also kept up to date on the technology needed for a business to be successful. In each of these positions, I found myself teaching or training employees or clients in addition to my accounting and auditing responsibilities. Hence, it was a natural transition into a teaching career. When teaching accounting, I can help students understand the connection of accounting to their career goals. From freshman-level classes — where I typically introduce students to the business environment and accounting for the first time — to senior-level classes — where I help prepare students to take their first steps into the business world and their role as accountants — I am always happy to have the opportunity to teach accounting at the college level.
