Biography and Expertise
Audrey Roberts earned a master’s degree in both microbiology and molecular biology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Florida International University in Miami. Her master’s degree research focused on the development of diagnostic procedures for disease causing mutations in the regulatory regions of the familial breast cancer genes BRCA I and BRCA II. The research was supported by M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Roberts has spent 16 years working and consulting in the fields of clinical molecular genetics, cytogenetics, and molecular cytogenetics. Her expertise was in developing and validating clinical diagnostic procedures.
Roberts has also served as an education coordinator for Hilton Hotels and Ameripath. At Ameripath, Ms. Roberts also developed a histology technologist training program in association with Florida Community College.
Roberts transitioned into college level instruction in 2016.
