The Charlotte Campus is spread across 11.75 acres and eight buildings
(including a parking deck) in uptown Charlotte. These buildings include the
Academic Center, Cedars Hall North & South, Gateway Village, Gateway Center, and the Maple, which is currently under construction.
Our campus is in Charlotte’s vibrant Gateway Village area, just a short walk (or free shuttle ride) from uptown Charlotte. We’re at the heart of the expansive revitalization of West Trade Street and Third Ward. It’s the perfect location to enjoy everything Charlotte has to offer.

From Charlotte Douglas International Airport
Take Billy Graham Parkway to I-77 North. Take Exit 10B (Trade Street East). Turn right at the end of the exit and follow Trade Street toward Uptown. The Academic Center is approximately 0.2 miles on the right.
From I-77
Take Exit 10 coming from the north or Exit 10B coming from the south (Trade Street East). Turn right at the end of the exit coming from the north or keep straight if coming from the south and follow Trade Street toward Uptown. The Academic Center is approximately 0.2 miles on the right.
From I-85
Take I-77 South. Then take Exit 10B (Trade Street East). Turn right at the end of the exit and follow Trade Street toward Uptown. The Academic Center is approximately 0.2 miles on the right.
Residence Halls
Follow these directions to our residence halls:
The Maple: Proceed on Trade Street East approximately 0.2 mile (2 blocks). Turn right between the Admissions Office and the Academic Center.
Cedar Halls North & South: Proceed on Trade Street East to Cedar Street (just past the Academic Center) and turn right. Go through the light at 4th Street and the residence halls will be on your left. Parking is by permit only, with very limited visitor parking.
Week Day Visitors: Parking is available in the Cedar Street Parking Deck.
Admissions Visitors: Bring your parking ticket to the Admissions Center for validation. Admissions is only able to validate tickets for Admissions tour attendees.
Weekend Admissions Events: Complimentary parking is available. Obtain a guest parking pass from Admissions and display it on your dashboard.
JWU Admissions Visitor Parking
JWU validates parking for the Cedar Street Parking Deck, located between West Trade Street and 4th Street:

CATS Bus & Light Rail System
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), the largest transit system between Atlanta and Washington, DC. CATS has over 70 local, express and regional bus routes, as well as a light rail line (LYNX), services for the disabled and vanpools.

Fly to Charlotte
Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the seventh-busiest airport in the nation, serving more than 34 million passengers annually and averaging nearly 700 daily flights.
The airport is just six miles from campus, with shuttle service to uptown Charlotte.
